High-Quality Decorative Microcement

Microcement has been growing in popularity and demand based on its endless applications. Microcement overlays are thin-colored concrete cement-based products that can be applied over existing concrete for repair or decorative reasons and can also be applied to vertical surfaces. The most important thing to note is that any microcement overlay is only as good as the substrate it is being applied to. If concrete is heavily cracked or coming up, the overlay will not last very long, and replacing the concrete should be a consideration.

There are endless design options from which to choose for microcement. Color can be applied directly to the mix for a uniform finish or stain can be applied afterward for more variation in color. The texture of the overlay can be customized as well including a smooth trowel finish, sprayed or troweled knockdown finish, broom finish, and various stamped finishes. Lastly, various stencils and hand-taped patterns can be applied to achieve the desired look.

After the microcement has been applied, there are a wide variety of sealers that can be used to achieve the desired sheen and protect the surface. Most sealers should be reapplied every 3-7 years.
