Get a High-Quality Garage Floor Coating System Today
At Hardshell Coatings, our high-quality garage floor coating system consists of a colored polyurea or epoxy base coat, vinyl chips, and a clear polyaspartic topcoat to create a floor that is as durable as it is beautiful.
If you’ve been researching online or speaking with companies about the best products to use for a residential garage floor, you’ve probably read or heard many differing opinions on the durability of polyaspartic, polyurea, and epoxy products. Most of these claims are marketing attempts to sway your decision away from competitors, but some do have merit. The reality is that all three of these options will provide a durable floor when properly installed and maintained.
Our opinion is that polyaspartic should always be used as the clear topcoat because it’s UV stable and has higher impact resistance. The base coat is usually determined based on the application and environment. For new build construction or freshly poured concrete, we like using a polyurea base coat because it is more flexible and can help mitigate a crack showing through as the slab settles. The benefit of the epoxy base coat that we use is that it has a built-in vapor barrier, so for older or exterior slabs where moisture is a concern, our vote would be an epoxy base coat.
This floor system is also great for basements, retail spaces, showrooms, commercial kitchens, warehouses, and much more!
Our signature colors that we keep in stock are below and we can order an endless number of options from Torginol; however, we do have an additional charge for flake that we have to special order.
